Overview
This knowledge base article provides instructions on how to leverage our data migration tool to move your datasets, evaluators, prompts and annotation queue rules to a new LangSmith organization, particularly for moving data between a US organization and an EU organization.
This tool does not migrate trace data, it ONLY moves evals, prompts, datasets and annotation queues. For exporting and retaining trace data see our Bulk Export documentation
Prerequisites
Create a new account in your desired region, there is a Data Region toggle at the top of the login modal to switch between regions:
For EU: https://eu.smith.langchain.com
For US: https://smith.langchain.com
API Keys for both regions with Organization Admin access
Python 3.11+

Migrating the data
Follow instructions to migrate data across instances following the usage readme.
Finishing Up
If you had a paid subscription:
Cancel your subscription in the old region to avoid double charges
Reapply for your desired plan (Plus, Startup, etc.) in the new region
Contact support with both your old and new organization IDs to request credit for any overlapping subscription period
Optional: If you need to delete your data from the old region after migration, submit a DSAR (Data Subject Access Request) through the deletion request form
