Unfortunately, deleted LangSmith projects cannot be restored. Project deletion in LangSmith is a hard delete — the project record is removed from the database immediately, and a background cleanup job removes all underlying traces within a few seconds.
Because of this, there is currently no mechanism to:
Restore a deleted project from a backup
Recover runs or threads associated with a deleted project
Export data from a project that has already been deleted
Important: Once a project is deleted, all associated trace and thread data is permanently and immediately unrecoverable. Please exercise caution before deleting any project, especially in production environments.
Best practices to avoid accidental data loss
Restrict project deletion permissions to trusted administrators only.
Regularly export important trace data if long-term retention is critical to your workflows.
Double-check the project name and contents before confirming a deletion.
